Today, FloridaCommerce announced the availability of $22 million in funding for rural communities in Florida through the Rural Infrastructure Fund (RIF). This program aims to support infrastructure projects that promote job creation, capital investment, and economic growth in these areas.
"Governor DeSantis’ unwavering commitment to the success of Florida’s rural communities is clearly demonstrated through continued funding initiatives like the Rural Infrastructure Fund," stated Secretary of Commerce J. Alex Kelly. "Since 2019, more than $107 million has been awarded for 108 projects through this program—continuing to help rural communities thrive by supporting critical infrastructure and future growth."
The fund supports various eligible projects such as public infrastructure improvements for industrial or commercial sites, upgrades or development of public tourism infrastructure, and enhancements to inadequate infrastructure that hinders economic or community growth.
FloridaCommerce will host a webinar on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 1 p.m., Eastern Time, to provide details about the application process. More information and application guidelines can be found at FloridaJobs.org/RIF.
