Port Canaveral has opened a new camp store at Jetty Park, marking the first step in a series of planned improvements for the popular recreation area. The ribbon cutting ceremony was attended by port officials and community leaders.
Capt. John Murray, Port Canaveral CEO, said, “The new camp store is the first in a series of improvement projects that we’re initiating to transform the park and enhance its appeal as a recreational resource for our local community as well as the many guests who visit it every year.”
The camp store project took more than a year to plan and build. The facility offers 6,200 square feet of air-conditioned space and stocks products such as souvenirs, camping supplies, beach items, food, snacks, and ice cream. There is also a campers lounge with complimentary coffee, charging stations, books, board games, and an area for children.
Jetty Park draws over 400,000 visitors each year. The $2.7 million investment in the new store aims to improve amenities for both campground guests and day visitors.
This upgrade is part of the Port Canaveral Advantage program—a five-year capital improvements initiative totaling $500 million designed to improve guest experiences throughout port facilities.
The new camp store is open daily from 9 AM to 6 PM (until 7 PM on Fridays). It represents just one phase of broader plans for Jetty Park that include updated cabins, new recreational facilities like pickleball courts and a dog park, improved infrastructure such as bathhouses and roadways, an expanded playground area, better lighting, and a future food truck pavilion.
