Business and community leaders in Northwest Florida will have the opportunity to hear from Mark Wilson, President and CEO of the Florida Chamber of Commerce, at a Florida Business Update event hosted by the Niceville Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Crosspoint Niceville, 214 South Partin Drive.
Mark Wilson, who leads the state's largest business advocacy group, will present updates on business growth in Okaloosa County, recent legislative developments, and economic data from TheFloridaScorecard.org. His presentation will also cover economic opportunities, workforce development, and infrastructure needs that are key to the region’s long-term competitiveness.
“Florida is experiencing historic growth, and communities like Niceville and Valparaiso are clearly leading the way in talent, innovation, and quality of life,” said Wilson. “Our job at the Florida Chamber is to unite the business community around solutions that keep Florida competitive, create high-wage jobs, and build a stronger economy that works for every family and every business. I look forward to discussing the data and strategies that will keep Northwest Florida thriving.”
Wilson added, “According to TheFloridaScorecard.org, Florida is projected to grow by more than 800 people per day through 2030, which creates both opportunities and challenges for regions like Okaloosa County. From ensuring we have the right talent pipeline to meeting infrastructure demands, the choices we make today will determine whether Florida continues to lead the hemisphere in competitiveness.”
Wilson was named Floridian of the Year by Florida Trend in 2023 for his work representing Florida’s business interests.
Tricia Brunson, President and CEO of the Niceville Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce, commented on the upcoming event: “We’re excited to have Mark Wilson provide a business update for our chamber members and valued leaders in our community. Through initiatives like the Florida 2030 Blueprint and the Six Pillars of Florida’s Future Economy, the Florida Chamber has mobilized statewide leaders to advance policies that strengthen talent supply, economic diversification, infrastructure investment, and community competitiveness. We are proud partners in this work and welcome Mark’s thought leadership in securing the future of Okaloosa County.”
The event is expected to attract business owners, local officials, and other community leaders from Okaloosa County and the Emerald Coast who are interested in learning about regional economic trends.
