TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Today, Governor Ron DeSantis vetoed four bills: CS/HB 133 – Professional Licensing Requirements for Barbers and Cosmetologists; CS/CS/HB 473 – Cybersecurity Incident Liability; CS/CS/SB 165 – Sampling of Beach Waters and Public Bathing Spaces; and SB 1078 – Public Records.

Operation Dry Water is a year-round national effort to educate recreational boaters about the dangers of boating under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Governor Ron DeSantis has signed Executive Order 24-135, suspending Angelica Pacheco from her position as City Councilwoman of Hialeah. The decision follows an indictment on June 18, 2024, by a grand jury in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida. Pacheco faces charges including one count of Conspiracy to Commit Health Care Fraud and Wire Fraud under 18 U.S.C. § 1349, five counts of Health Care Fraud under 18 U.S.C. § 1347, and two counts of Wire Fraud under 18 U.S.C. § 1343.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.—Governor Ron DeSantis announced the allocation of funds for infrastructure improvements through the Florida Job Growth Grant Fund (JGGF). JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Today, FloridaCommerce announced that the Jacksonville area’s private sector jobs increased by 13,200 jobs (+1.9 percent) over the year in May 2024. The area's labor force grew by 0.3 percent (+2,157) over the same period. The Jacksonville area unemployment rate was 3.0 percent in May 2024, marking a 0.2 percentage point increase from the May 2023 rate of 2.8 percent.
