The Volunteer Florida Foundation has announced the launch of the Rural Community Assets Fund (RCAF) grant program for fiscal year 2025–2026. This initiative aims to enhance community-based organizations in Florida’s rural areas by recruiting and equipping volunteers. The foundation will distribute up to $150,000 in total funding, with eligible applicants able to request between $10,000 and $15,000 per award. A 100% match is required.

“At Volunteer Florida, we recognize the incredible value that local organizations bring to rural communities across our state,” said Volunteer Florida CEO Josie Tamayo. “Through the Rural Community Assets Fund, we’re proud to invest in their efforts by supporting volunteer-driven solutions that strengthen community connections and ensure that every Floridian has access to meaningful services and support.”

The application process opened on July 18, 2025, with submissions due by August 14 at 5:00 p.m. EDT. An application technical assistance call is scheduled for July 30 at 10 a.m. EDT.

Volunteer Florida was established in 1994 and manages national service programs while advocating for volunteerism throughout the state. It also serves as the lead agency for mobilizing volunteers before, during, and after disasters.
