FloridaCommerce has announced a notable increase in private sector employment in the West Palm Beach metro area. Over the year leading up to June 2025, the region gained 10,000 jobs, marking a 1.6% rise. The education and health services industry saw the most significant growth, adding 7,200 positions.

The labor force in West Palm Beach grew by 1,718 individuals, or 0.2%, compared to last year. The unemployment rate for June 2025 was recorded at 3.9%, which is a slight increase from the previous year’s rate of 3.6%.

Statewide, Florida’s private sector employment rose by 128,100 jobs, reflecting a growth rate of 1.5%. This aligns with CNBC’s recent ranking of Florida as having the top economy in the nation for three consecutive years.

Governor DeSantis has played a role in this economic development by allocating $10 million to five Florida colleges through the Job Growth Grant Fund to support aerospace industry needs. Since taking office in 2019, he has directed over $10 billion into workforce education.

Florida’s job growth rate has consistently outpaced the national average for nearly four years. The education and health services sector led job gains statewide as well.

The state’s unemployment rate stood at 3.7% as of June 2025 and has been below the national average for over four years.
