Operation Blue Roof offers free roof protection for hurricane-hit Florida homes

The Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) has announced the launch of Operation Blue Roof, a program run by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Jacksonville District. This initiative is designed to assist residents impacted by Hurricane Milton by providing temporary roofing solutions.

Operation Blue Roof offers fiber-reinforced, industrial-strength sheeting at no cost to homeowners and permanently occupied rental properties in several counties, including Brevard, Citrus, Charlotte, DeSoto, Hardee, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Indian River, Lake, Manatee, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota, Seminole, St. Lucie, Sumter and Volusia.

Eligible residents can apply for this service until Tuesday, November 5. They can sign up by visiting blueroof.gov or calling 888-ROOF-BLU (888-766-3258). Additionally, Right of Entry (ROE) collection centers are available throughout the affected areas for assistance with the application process.
