The Department of Children and Families has announced the opening of a Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (D-SNAP) location in Jefferson County. This initiative, scheduled from November 7 to November 9, aims to assist residents affected by Hurricane Helene who are not currently receiving regular SNAP benefits.
Residents of Jefferson County who have pre-registered online but missed their phone interview can visit the D-SNAP site for an in-person interview. However, those who completed their phone interviews do not need to attend in person.
Pre-registration will reopen for county residents who did not register previously. The department encourages online pre-registration before visiting the site at www.myflfamilies.com/DSNAP, available during the same dates as the on-site interviews.
The D-SNAP location is set at Elizabeth Baptist Church, Monticello, FL, operating from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Current SNAP recipients and those approved via telephone interview should not attend this location. Additionally, only Jefferson County residents will be served here.
Future D-SNAP locations in other counties will be announced upon approval. Media intending to cover the event must contact the Department’s Press Office ahead of time and note that interviews are limited to November 7.
