Today, Governor Ron DeSantis announced the appointment of Alexis A. Lambert as Secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection.
Alexis A. Lambert currently holds the position of Chief of Staff at the Division of Bond Finance, a role she has occupied since 2018. During her tenure, Lambert has been involved in supporting the Governor's debt reduction strategy, which has led to the state reducing more than a quarter of its outstanding debt since it became a state.
Before joining the division, Lambert was Chief of Staff at the Florida Department of Health (DOH), where she managed all department activities and its 15,000 employees while also serving as a liaison to DEP. Her previous roles include Director of Communications for State Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater and leadership positions within several departments including Children and Families, Business and Professional Regulation, and Community Affairs. A native of Tallahassee and graduate from Mercer University, Lambert is also on the board for Space Florida and serves with the State Emergency Response Commission.
