Florida State Parks offers free entry to military families on Veterans Day

Florida State Parks will offer free admission to veterans, active-duty military members, and their families on Veterans Day. This initiative includes several notable parks with historical significance.

The General James A. Van Fleet State Trail in Polk County is named after a decorated veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He graduated alongside generals Dwight D. Eisenhower and Omar Bradley from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1915.

Olustee Battlefield Historic State Park in Baker County is known for the Battle of Olustee, where the 54th Massachusetts Regiment fought.

Avalon State Park in St. Lucie County was a World War II-era training camp for Frogmen, who later became Navy SEALs.
