Rooms To Go is set to receive the Captain James McKay Port Achievement Award at this year's Anchor Ball on December 7, 2024. The award honors contributions to the economic development of Port Tampa Bay and the maritime community.
Founded in 1991 and headquartered in Seffner, Florida, Rooms To Go is the largest independent furniture retailer in the United States, with over 150 showrooms across ten states. The company employs more than 10,000 people and reported sales exceeding $3.54 billion in 2023. Their offerings include full-line furniture showrooms as well as specialized outlets like Rooms To Go Kids & Teens and Rooms To Go Patio.
Community involvement is a core value for Rooms To Go. They support various organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club, Jeff Gordon’s Children’s Center, Beds for Kids, Camp Twin Lakes for children with serious illnesses, Moffitt Cancer Center, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Mustard Seed of Central Florida, and veteran's groups.
As one of the largest containerized cargo importers in the country, Rooms To Go has significantly contributed to Port Tampa Bay's growth as a major container port. Jeffery Seaman serves as CEO of Rooms To Go and was inducted into the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame last year. Ali Hosein holds the position of VP of International Freight and Merchandising.
The Anchor Ball will take place at TPepin Hospitality Centre on December 7. Proceeds will benefit the Tampa Port Ministries Seafarer’s Center and the Tampa Bay Maritime Scholarship Foundation.
