The Florida Chamber Foundation is set to host the 2024 Florida Transportation, Growth & Infrastructure Solution Summit on December 3 at the JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort & Spa. The event will focus on addressing infrastructure solutions needed to support Florida's population growth and economic expansion.
Florida is projected to see an increase of 2.8 million residents by 2030, along with 2.5 million more drivers and an additional 40 million visitors annually. This anticipated growth presents both opportunities for innovation and challenges in maintaining competitiveness in the global economy.
Mark Wilson, President of the Florida Chamber of Commerce & Foundation, emphasized the importance of evolving infrastructure: “Florida is one of the fastest-growing states in the nation, and our infrastructure must evolve to meet the demands of our expanding population and local businesses.” He noted that the summit provides a platform for industry leaders and policymakers to collaborate on securing Florida's future as a global economic leader.
FDOT Secretary Jared W. Perdue, P.E., will deliver a keynote speech highlighting forward-thinking strategies from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). “Florida’s longstanding position as a top global economy is the direct result of strong state leadership, high-quality transportation infrastructure, continued investments in innovative technology, and the development of a robust workforce to deliver the needs of the state’s communities,” said Perdue. He added that FDOT is proud to work with the Florida Chamber and industry professionals across the state to maintain Florida's leadership in transportation.
The summit will also feature discussions from industry leaders on how advancements in infrastructure contribute to job creation and improve quality of life for Floridians.
The event will take place from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM ET at JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek. Participants include leaders from trade, logistics, manufacturing sectors, and other key stakeholders focused on shaping Florida's future infrastructure.
Registration for this event is ongoing, offering attendees an opportunity to be part of shaping transformative growth and innovation in Florida's economy.
