The unemployment rate in Jacksonville rose to 3.5% in October 2024 from 3.2% a year earlier. The labor force decreased by 7,660 people, totaling 846,802 for the month.
Statewide, Florida's unemployment rate has been below the national average for four years straight. As of October 2024, it stands at 3.3%, with the state adding over 107,600 private sector jobs compared to last year.
