Governor Ron DeSantis has announced appointments to the Construction Industry Licensing Board. Nick Burgess, Wayne Mayo, and Steve Richmond have been appointed, while Donald Cesarone, Jonathan Cook, Fred Kobie, Rachelle Wood, and Brian Zettle have been reappointed.
Nick Burgess from Zephyrhills serves as Executive Director for AdventHealth Pasco County Foundations. He is involved with the Greater East Pasco Chamber of Commerce Board of Trustees and has a background in operations at Bahrs Construction. He holds a degree in criminology from the University of South Florida.
Wayne Mayo of Tallahassee is President and Founder of Southern Standard Construction, LLC. He has been active with the Association Building Contractors of Florida Board and received the Eagle Award in 2023. Mayo studied at the University of Texas at Arlington.
Steve Richmond from Naples founded Projetech, Inc., authored "Working SMART," and participates in the Forbes Technology Council. His education includes an associate degree from Cincinnati State Technical and Community College.
Donald Cesarone of Lake Worth is CEO of Lucas Lagoons Construction, LLC. He was inducted into the Florida Swimming Pool Association Hall of Fame in 2024 and won a Best in Show Award in 2023. Cesarone attended Broward College and North Texas State University.
Jonathan Cook from Chipley is Vice President of CINCH Underground, Inc., a Deacon at First Baptist Church in Chipley, and a former State Trooper for the Florida Highway Patrol. He earned his criminal justice degree from Thomas University.
Fred Kobie from LaBelle presides over Kobie Kooling, Inc., and Kobie Inspection Services. He is also President-Elect of the Rotary Club of LaBelle with a business degree from Kennedy Western University.
Rachelle Wood from Jupiter leads Dolphin Sheet Metal, Inc., engages with community organizations like the National Association of Women in Construction, and holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida.
Brian Zettle from Tallahassee works as Partner and Consultant at Boyette Zettle, LLC. His previous roles include positions on several advisory committees related to construction education and leadership boards. Zettle graduated with a building construction degree from the University of North Florida.
These appointments await confirmation by the Florida Senate.
