Carnival Cruise Line's Carnival Venezia has arrived at Port Canaveral, marking a milestone as the 16th ship to be homeported at the world's second busiest cruise port. This addition brings the total number of Carnival ships at Port Canaveral to five, joining Mardi Gras, Vista, Glory, and Freedom. The expanded fleet offers a variety of ship choices and itinerary options for travelers in Central Florida.
Port Canaveral CEO Capt. John Murray expressed enthusiasm about the new arrival: "Our new fiscal year is taking off in grand style with the arrival of Carnival Venezia, which represents the 16th cruise ship to home port at Port Canaveral – the most in our history." He noted the longstanding partnership with Carnival Cruise Line, spanning nearly 35 years.
To celebrate Carnival Venezia's arrival, a traditional maritime plaque exchange took place on board with officials from Port Canaveral and Staff Captain Alessandro Poderoso of Carnival Venezia.
The ship will offer sailings ranging from 7 to 14 days to destinations throughout the Caribbean, Bahamas, Mexico, and Central and South America. Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line stated: "Our Venice-themed ship adds another truly dynamic offering, with a fresh Italian twist on our signature Carnival fun plus the same friendly service our guests love."
Carnival Venezia was built in 2019 and underwent significant refurbishment in 2023 to incorporate "Carnival Fun Italian Style" concepts inspired by Venice. The ship features dining venues such as Guy’s Burger Joint and Bonsai Sushi & Teppanyaki, along with new offerings like Il Viaggio restaurant.
