Port Canaveral has been recognized as the "Best Cruise Homeport" for the fifth time in the annual Cruise Hive Awards. This recognition is based on surveys conducted among readers of the online publication, Cruise Hive. The port received more than double the votes of its nearest competitor.
"This award is a testament to our investments in state-of-the-art facilities, our dedication to excellence, and the exceptional service provided by our talented team," stated Capt. John Murray, CEO of Port Canaveral. He further added, "We’re proud to host record-breaking numbers of passengers while welcoming some of the world’s newest and most innovative ships to Central Florida. This recognition reaffirms our commitment to offering unparalleled experiences for cruisers."
Port Canaveral hosts a variety of cruise lines such as Carnival Cruise Line, Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Norwegian Cruise Line, MSC Cruises, Disney Cruise Line, and recently added Princess Cruises and Celebrity Cruises to its offerings.
In recent developments at the port, Royal Caribbean's second Icon-class ship, Utopia of the Seas, began operations last summer. This ship is notable for being the largest vessel operating a year-round short cruise program from Port Canaveral. Additionally, Disney Treasure made its debut later in the fall. Looking ahead, Royal Caribbean's third Icon-class ship, Star of the Seas, is set to start service from Port Canaveral in summer 2025.
Port Canaveral provides a wide array of itineraries ranging from short getaways and week-long trips to destinations like The Bahamas and eastern and western Caribbean regions. It also offers longer voyages reaching southern Caribbean locales, South America, and traversing through the Panama Canal.
