Port Tampa Bay has announced the promotion of two key figures within its organization. Greg Lovelace has been elevated to Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, while Jorge Torres steps into the role of Senior Director of Security and Safety Compliance.
Greg Lovelace, who has been with Port Tampa Bay for 28 years, most recently served as Vice President of Business Development. In his new position, he will oversee business development and marketing teams. His responsibilities include attracting new businesses and supporting existing ones, focusing on outreach to beneficial cargo owners for containers and expanded services. He will report to Raul Alfonso, Executive Vice President & Chief Commercial Officer.
Lovelace holds a BS Degree in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina and an MBA from the University of New Orleans. Before joining Port Tampa Bay, he worked with Evergreen for ten years. He is involved with the Gulf Seaports Marine Terminal Conference and serves as President of the CSCMP Central Florida Roundtable.
Jorge Torres takes on his new role after serving as Facility Security Manager at the Port of Houston Authority. He spent 14 years on active duty with the US Coast Guard before retiring in 2019 after 24 years of service. As Senior Director, Torres will manage port security compliance mandates and training programs. He reports to Mark Dubina, Vice President of Security.
Torres graduated from American Military University with degrees in Security Management and Homeland Security. He is board certified by ASIS International as a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and is actively involved in several security committees.
Both promotions highlight Port Tampa Bay's commitment to strengthening its leadership team in marketing, business development, security, and safety compliance.
