Today, the Florida Department of Education and Commissioner Manny Diaz, Jr. expressed their appreciation for Governor Ron DeSantis' ongoing commitment to education funding in Florida. The Focus on Fiscal Responsibility Budget proposes an increase in teacher pay for the sixth consecutive year, with an additional $246.7 million allocated for teacher and instructional personnel salaries, totaling a record $1.5 billion for Fiscal Year 2025-2026.
The budget also increases the per-student allocation to $9,205 per full-time student. Furthermore, it includes a recommendation from the Governor for a $300 million Safe Schools Allocation.
