Today in Tallahassee, Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis and First Lady Casey DeSantis held an event recognizing 62 individuals from across the state as part of the Third Annual Florida’s Heroes Reception. These individuals were honored for their exceptional acts of courage, compassion, and commitment to the community.
The ceremony highlighted first responders, law enforcement officers, philanthropists, faith leaders, and entrepreneurs who have demonstrated significant kindness, bravery, and selflessness. The event also honored members of nonprofit organizations, as well as individuals involved in adoption, foster care, mentorship, and advocacy work.
Governor Ron DeSantis stated, “It was an honor recognize and thank Floridians who have exhibited extraordinary courage and selflessness. These 62 individuals represent the virtues we hold in high esteem here in Florida. They are Florida's heroes."
First Lady Casey DeSantis added, “We were proud tonight to highlight the good works and heroic acts of Floridians from across the state. These individuals have gone above and beyond to serve others, and we are grateful to each of them.”
The stories of each hero were presented during the ceremony and displayed at the Governor’s Residence. The list of the 2025 Florida Heroes includes individuals from various counties, and their efforts were formally acknowledged.
Beyond the formal recognitions, the ceremony emphasized the positive impact these heroes have had within their communities. The full list of honorees from counties such as Broward, Calhoun, Collier, and others, highlights a diverse group of individuals whose actions have contributed to positive changes across the state.
