PortMiami has once again been recognized as the Best Cruise Port by Global Traveler magazine, marking its third consecutive win in the publication's 13th Annual Leisure Lifestyle Awards. The awards were presented at an event held at the InterContinental Miami in May and are featured in Global Traveler’s May Leisure Travel Issue.
“PortMiami continues to break records and uphold its status as the Cruise Capital of the World,” stated Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava. She added that this accolade underscores PortMiami’s dedication to providing excellent passenger experiences, maintaining strong infrastructure, and prioritizing sustainability. The mayor also congratulated the seaport team and cruise line partners for their remarkable achievement.
Global Traveler conducted a reader survey from September 20, 2024, to January 30, 2025. Participants responded to open-ended questions across various categories related to leisure, luxury, and lifestyle travel. The survey was distributed through multiple channels including magazine inserts, direct mail questionnaires, online platforms, and emails.
Hydi Webb, Director and CEO of PortMiami, expressed gratitude towards Global Traveler readers for consistently voting for PortMiami over three years. Webb also acknowledged the support from Mayor Levine Cava, the Board of County Commissioners, and cruise line partners in making PortMiami a preferred departure point for cruise passengers.
In Fiscal Year 2024, PortMiami set a new record by welcoming 8.2 million cruise passengers—an increase of 12.79% compared to the previous year. Notably, on February 8, 2025, the port hosted ten cruise ships simultaneously for the first time. Furthermore, March 30 marked its busiest day with 72,008 cruise passengers passing through.
