Century Village East has announced a partnership with Southeast Land and Water Management to support an ecological initiative aimed at improving lake health through sustainable practices. The initiative focuses on promoting water quality and preserving the area's natural environment.
According to Century Village East, the community has launched a comprehensive effort to enhance the health of its lakes, focusing on more than just appearance. This initiative includes routine water quality testing, targeted removal of invasive species, and educational outreach to raise community awareness about local environmental issues. As part of this work, 11 fountains are being installed in lakes throughout the property to enhance oxygen levels and water circulation, both essential for sustaining aquatic life. In collaboration with Clarke Harlow and Southeast Land and Water Management, the community is implementing long-term strategies to support cleaner and more sustainable water systems for all residents.
"At Southeast Land and Water Management, we believe sustainable waterway care should deliver more than just clear lakes—it should strengthen ecosystems, reduce long-term costs, and improve quality of life for the entire community," said Clarke Harlow, Principal at Southeast Land and Water Management. "Together, we’re putting that belief into action through ecological restoration, water quality testing, invasive species removal, and the installation of new fountains to boost circulation and beauty. We’re proud to help set a new standard for environmental stewardship in South Florida."
