The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is organizing a series of public workshops to collect feedback on the management of the recreational red snapper fishery along Florida’s Atlantic coast. The workshops will take place in various locations from October 6 through October 16, with an additional virtual webinar scheduled for October 21.
The FWC stated that these sessions are intended to gather input from stakeholders, which will help guide decisions regarding state management of the red snapper fishery. Each workshop is set to begin at 6 p.m. and end by 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
The schedule includes stops in Jacksonville, St. Augustine, New Smyrna Beach, Cape Canaveral, Fort Pierce, West Palm Beach, and Fort Lauderdale. The virtual webinar can be accessed by visiting MyFWC.com/SaltwaterWorkshops on the day of the event.
Those unable to attend in person or online are encouraged to submit their comments through the FWC Saltwater Public Comments page or by emailing Marine@MyFWC.com.
