As of this morning, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) emergency response personnel have completed preliminary assessments of over 10,000 lane miles of state roads. A total of 181 FDOT crews have performed cut-and-toss operations, removing road debris on over 6,596 miles of road. State roadways are now clear except for inaccessible and flooded roadways.

Last month, closed sales of existing single-family homes statewide totaled 23,183, down 11.1% year-over-year, while existing condo-townhouse sales totaled 8,339, down 20.5% over June 2023, according to data from Florida Realtors Research Department in partnership with local Realtor boards/associations. For the second quarter of 2024, statewide existing single-family home sales totaled 74,117, down 2.2% from the same period in 2023. Statewide existing condo-townhouse sales totaled 28,982 for the quarter, marking a decline of 9.2% year-over-year.

FloridaCommerce has approved more than $2.1 million in funding through the Florida Small Business Emergency Bridge Loan Program to assist small businesses affected by recent flooding in South Florida. Work is progressing on a $39 million capital improvement project to rebuild Port Canaveral’s North Cargo Berth 4 (NCB4). The project involves removing the existing over-the-water pier, which has been out of service for nearly 10 years, and replacing it with a 981-foot-long multi-purpose, multi-user wharf. North Cargo Berth 4 is adjacent to the newly rebuilt North Cargo Berth 3 (NCB3), an 880-foot-long multi-purpose berth that went into service in June 2023.
